Badlands Bobcat

It’s a little early for seeing Bobcats but we thought we would try our luck over the Thanksgiving weekend. Here is an of one cat who decided to arrive early at the Prairie Dog Buffet.


Wild Sunflowers and More

Every fall I try to make it down to Ft Snelling State Park in order photograph the wild sunflowers. This year I was fortunate to be able to capture a few images of butterflies and other insects, as well.

Caterpillar Sightings

It is that time of year when the milkweed is tall,  and the caterpillars are active.   I came across two types – the Milkweed Tussock Moth Caterpillar and the Monarch Caterpillar. Here are images captured today at Ft Snelling.

Eastern Screech-Owl (Megascops asio)

This little guy hangs out near one of the Twin Cities lakes. They come in both a gray and red phase.
