I thought I’d try the light at the other side of the day. I found both parents, late as the sun began to set. The young one had moved and I didn’t have enough time to to re-locate it. The first image is of the male adult, the following two are of the female.

Out at sunrise to get the best light. I found the young one but the crows found the parent for me. She was sitting high up but I had a clear and uncluttered view of her. I saw the male adult a little later as I was leaving.
Found both parents this morning but only one of the young.
Tough shooting today, given the rain showers and poor light. The owl family seems to have moved over to the cemetery. I saw both of the parents and one of the young. The crows were keeping them busy. No sign of the other owlet, but I did hear the crows react to something at another location [...]
I am following two nests this year. One of the owl families has one owlet, the other has two. I checked on the twins today to see how they were doing and was surprised to see them still in the nest. Later in the day the oldest of the two put on a show by [...]
I was out tonight checking on the young branchling and it has move away from the nest to a different area of the woods. It was found sitting approx 25′ above the ground in an old dead tree. Both parents were on guard with mom watching from about 200′ the east, facing the setting sun. [...]
I thought I’d share a couple of images that I got yesterday when checking on the owls, a Nuthatch and a female Red Bellied Woodpecker.
Put in a long day hoping to optimize chances for seeing a Grizzly Bear. Alas, maybe next time. Still, it was a pleasant day with lots of opportunities to photograph other critters: Coyote, Mountain Blue Birds, Peregrine Falcons, Clarks Nutcracker.
Great weather today at Yellowstone. Nothing but sunshine and blue skies with only a few clouds all day. Spent most of the day looking for wolves and bear. Both were seen but they were not close enough to photograph. Tomorrow will be my last chance. I am still hopeful. Here’s a couple of pictures – [...]
Very sunny today, making the shadows hard to deal with, until later in the day when a thin layer of clouds softened things. I thought I’d add a landscape shot into the mix, along with a couple of critters. Thanks for looking.
